Cattle supply included: 270 steers and heifers, 116 cows, 35 bulls and 89 feeder cattle.

 

Compared to last week’s sale, slaughter steers and Holstein steers sold 1.50 to 2.00 higher. Slaughter heifers sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Feeder calves sold mostly 5.00 to 15.00 higher. All prices per cwt.

Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as traditional markets.

 

Sheep and Lambs: Compared to last Monday, slaughter lambs sold 15.00 to 20.00 lower. Slaughter ewes sold 10.00 to 12.00 lower. Demand light to moderate with moderate trade. Slaughter supply consisted of 73 percent lambs, 21 percent slaughter ewes, and 6 percent miscellaneous stock. All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.

Demand moderate with moderate to slow trade. Goat supply consisted of 71 percent slaughter kids, 19 percent slaughter nannies, 8 percent slaughter billies, remainder miscellaneous stock. All goats are sold by the head, on estimated weights.
